AMERICAN IMPRESSIONISM
The Richard Thompson Gallery was
founded November 1977 to exclusively represent the original art of American Impressionist
artist Richard Earl Thompson, and feature other talented impressionist artists . Richard
Earl Thompson, Jr. operated the gallery until December 1994. Located in
downtown San Francisco on fashionable Maiden Lane, the gallery became a destination
experience for art collectors and art lovers a like. The unique two floor gallery
was appointed with antique furnishings, oriental rugs and parquet floors giving an elegant
"old world" atmosphere that complimented the art of
the modern day
masters of American Impressionism. A visit to the gallery was a fond memory for
those who loved nature based landscape paintings in the impressionist technique
.
